About

Who We Are

Meadowlark Manufacturing is a small team of creative people led by Chief Engineer, Paul Downer. We began as an effort to manufacture our own designs with a captive shop. The early focus was to build a company that provided good jobs for Montanans. With time, our focus has broadened to look for larger problems and ask, “Can we solve that?” Today we remain committed to using both engineering and manufacturing to solve practical problems.

Our desire is to make a difference by tackling challenges that no one else has. When we find a problem that is worthy of our time and effort, we pursue it.  We choose not to be intimidated by large scale or complex projects.  Instead, we break problems down into smaller segments, seek like-minded people as partners, and achieve timely results.  If you would like to partner with us, visit our projects page and contact us.

Design

Meadowlark’s design team includes people with backgrounds in Aeronautics, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Copywriting, and Business.

Manufacturing

Oftentimes outside suppliers with expertise in their field are sought to augment our capabilities.  This reduces our failures, allows us to pursue challenging projects outside our manufacturing base, and prevents having to retool constantly.  I.e. Meadowlark has experience in composites layup, but outsources that work to other firms with better vacuum bagging, curing, and assembly capabilities.

Purpose

Meadowlark Manufacturing was founded with the purpose of being an agile engineering firm with in house manufacturing capacity.  Specifically, we at Meadowlark Manufacturing pursue projects that address practical problems.  Our desire is to make a difference by solving real world problems quickly. We do this by thinking a great deal about the big picture, examining prior efforts, and reviewing current practice.  Our team then applies existing technology in modified form or in combinations not previously associated.  This helps us move rapidly to reach solutions.
